Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous boots!!
Excellent fit A’s well, as expected from custom built shoes!

Great boots but required breaking in. I had blisters on my heels after the first few hours of wearing and the leather at the crease by my toes is very stiff, causing some discomfort. The insoles were slightly uneven but I expect they will flatten out over time. Overall, they are well constructed and look amazing. I am looking forward to wearing them regularly.

I have never purchased a pair of shoes as well made, and well presented as this even for double the price. And I own a lot of shoes. By pure chance I came across the BlackBird brand as I was doom-scrolling and - since it was made in India, and I'm always on the look for quality brands out of India - I decided to check it out. Went through the website, was impressed by the quality of presentation and description, and general attention to detail. Decided to order one.

Well the shoe arrived and I must admit I was a little apprehensive upon opening the well constructed box, and the shoe-bag. Then I took the boot out, one of the pair, and I immediately realised that I had struck shoemaking gold. It is a perfect boot, and within minutes, even before trying them on, I was sending around photographs to my friends. These shoes are art, ladies and gentlemen, and I don't know how BlackBird popped up out of nowhere into the shoe-universe, and how they just started making the very highest quality items right from the first over, but damn...

However, it was done, it has been done perfectly. Just looking at the shoe made me certain that India was going places. As someone who left the country a long time ago, and always earnestly hoping for my motherland to start producing leather goods that anyone, anywhere in the world would be proud to wear, I cannot tell you how pleasing the whole experience this has been.

BlackBird has somehow encapsulated the Indian promise to the third millennium in a pair of shoes, and a gorgeous pair at that. I look forward to a long affectionate relationship with them.
